Things You Should Avoid With Your Bosses

So many times, we say something really awkward to our seniors which may become potentially harmful to our careers. Here you will find the list of the things you must avoid when you are with your bosses. Especially, if you do not want to be in any problematic situation.

Never say “I do not know” to your senior or your boss. Always try to find out the solution of the problem or say you are going to figure out something and will get back soon. It will increase their confidence in you and your chances of getting promoted will also be strengthened.

Be adaptable – never ever compare your boss with your previous boss or other people’s bosses. The comparison will harm your image and will get you in a bad light. Your boss will make your perception as a rigid and not a flexible or adaptable person.

Do not have time – It is never acceptable that you should say that you do not have time. It actually undermines your own significance. This statement positions you as a someone who lacks in capabilities. It has to be other ways around. You should use phrases like “I can” or “I will” always. Even though you are not really able to do that thing, there is no harm in trying and it will also improve your image and your efforts will be appreciated. even you have to give some extra time.

Bosses can also make mistakes – Never pass derogatory comments for your boss or pull him down by speaking bad things about him. Criticize the idea not your boss. Same applies to your colleagues as well. Never ever speak negative things. This is really important. Try to be solution minded rather than problem highlighter.

Avoid Generalisation – You should not become a leader and come up with the generalized thoughts on behalf of others. You never know if people do not take a stand when confronted. So, do not hold any opinion about anything outright and do not tell your boss the same thing. Talk about thoughts and ideas in specific and related to yourself only.

I hope you found these things helpful and interesting. If you have any ideas related to the topic, please write to me at tams@tamsstudies.com. I am very much interested in reading your thoughts and would like to include in my further posts.

Have a nice life. Be Better Everyday.
